Fringe Society
Dancing For Money

We
danced
on
the
bar
in
white
go-go
boots
and
suede
shorts
with
fringe
at
the
hem
way
back
then
way
back
when
we
were
living
on
the
edge
of
glory
the
fringe
of
society
gaining
notoriety
even
though
we
weren’t
looking
for
it
after
we
danced
we
would
sit
and
have
drinks
with
the
guys
that
came
in
every
night
honestly
they
were
a
welcome
sight
in
the
dim
lights
something
someone
familiar
something
known
something
hopeful
something
alone
we
could
trust
them
at
least
in
that
place
in
that
space
in
that
time
we
could
trust
them
and
they
could
believe
we
loved
them
and
we
could
believe
they
loved
us
in
God
we
trusted
we
could
pretend
About the Creator
Jennifer True
Hello,
I was living in a remote cabin when covid-19 lockdown hit. I began writing a poem every day as a writing project and have continued on from there. Thank you so much for reading my work and for your feedback.
Cheers!
Jennifer
