The carpenter bee and the droning
Welcomes the blurred-wing by haloed sun
And the hundred-band of birds in chorus call
Alight and loose upon the crowning clouds of gold
Where a Spring wind plays upon the strings of branches
And a Gust
which of tempest-driven might
heaves the blooming throughout the grass
And the air -
And the air that enfolds all of this -
It comes and goes
and then
It comes and goes
And when there is by instant branded mark
The sorrow of a departing glow
Abandoned I in a listless wonder
Gather memories of sun struck petal fields
Then like pollen borne by wind forced flight
Give away all that's soon to fade
And lie down empty
Full of Awe.
