Game of Secrets

You Crossed the Line

WHY CAN'T WE ACCEPT THE THINGS THAT WE CAN'T CHANGE: A POEM

AT THIS MOMENT,

I KNOW YOU DON'T CARE;

BUT I HAVE SOME WORDS,

THAT I WOULD LIKE TO SHARE.

〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️

I GUESS SOONER OR LATER,

I KNEW WE WOULD PART;

I HATE THAT,

BECAUSE YOU STILL HAVE,

A PIECE OF MY HEART.

〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️

I DID YOU WRONG IN THE PAST,

BUT YOU TOLD ME,

YOU HAD FORGIVEN ME AND WAS GOING,

TO GIVE ME ANOTHER CHANCE;

SINCE THEN I HAVE DONE NOTHING,

BUT TRY TO LOVE YOU,

AND SHOWER YOU WITH ROMANCE.

〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️

I ADMIT I CHEATED YOU IN THE PAST;

BUT YOU WOULD NEVER LET IT GO,

IT SEEMS LIKE THERE WAS ALWAYS,

SOMETHING IN MY PAST THAT WOULDN'T,

ALLOW THIS RELATIONSHIP TO LAST.

〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️

THE RELATIONSHIP I HAD,

WITH THE OTHER WOMAN,

HAS STAYED ON YOUR MIND;

YOU WON'T LET IT GO,

I MESSED UP,

BECAUSE YOU'RE A GOOD GIRL,

WHO WAS HARD TO FIND.

〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️

YOU ARE STILL HOLDING GRUDGES,

AFTER YOU TOLD ME,

YOU WOULD FORGIVE ME,

GIVE OUR RELATIONSHIP ANOTHER CHANCE,

I AM SO SO SORRY,

FOR CAUSING YOU SO MUCH STRIFE;

WHY ARE YOU HAVING SUCH A HARD TIME,

TRUSTING ME IN YOUR LIFE?

〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️

WILL THE SCARS IN THE PAST,

MAKE YOU HUMBLE;

IS IT POSSIBLE THAT THE WALLS,

YOUR HEART WILL CRUMBLE?

〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️

A PERSON's BEHAVIOR,

IS REFLECTED BY THEIR NEEDS;

THEY CAN SOMETIMES TURN,

INTO UNTHINKABLE DEEDS.

〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️

MY PAST INFIDELITIES,

HAS LEFT YOUR HEART WEARY;

YOU REFLECTED ON A BEHAVIOR,

THAT SEEMS TO BE TOO LEERY.

〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️

I PRAY THAT ONE DAY,

YOU WILL FORGIVE ME,

FOR ALL OF MY FAULTS,

AND OPEN UP YOUR MIND;

I KNOW THAT YOU HAVE A GOOD HEART,

THAT CAN BE WILLING AND KIND.

Response to Poem:

Game of Secrets You Crossed the Line

Verse 1

You crossed the line, with no regard

Forgiveness is a key, not a lingering scar

I won’t forget, the pain you wrought

Respect was lost, in the secrets you sought

Another’s touch, without a care

Left me stranded, in empty air

Chorus

The weight of your actions, a burden to bear

Selfish desires, no thought to share

You knew what you wanted, but didn’t relay

Assumed I’d follow, or just look away

In your game of secrets, you dimmed the light

But honesty’s needed, to make things right

Verse 2

Boundaries shattered, trust torn apart

You left your mark, on my fragile heart

No thought to protect, just a reckless thrill

Changed lives overnight, with your selfish will

Don’t ask for forgiveness, without making amends

Acknowledge the love, that your actions end

Bridge

I won’t be your doormat, or turn the other cheek

Respect and honesty, are all that I seek

You stepped out of line, with expectations high

Thinking I’d forgive, and not question why

But forgiveness is a choice, not your given right

And honesty’s the key, to end this fight

Chorus

The weight of your actions, a burden to bear

Selfish desires, no thought to share

You knew what you wanted, but didn’t relay

Assumed I’d follow, or just look away

In your game of secrets, you dimmed the light

But honesty’s needed, to make things right

Outro

Before the show, not after the flight

Respect for myself, I drop your plate

From my once delicious, now empty slate

Peace of mind, in every stride

Won’t be torn apart by your heat or pride
