Heartbeat of my Soul

By Julie O'Hara - Author, Poet and Spiritual WarriorPublished 7 months ago 1 min read

You were the drum beneath my chest

The beat that gave my silence rest

A rhythm wild ... A pulse so true

Every moment danced because of you

You were my person

My spark

My twin flame

The one who willingly gave me his name

You were

The thump

The rush

The steady roll

You were the heartbeat of my soul

Heartbeat of my soul

I still feel you humming beneath my skin

The melody where our love begins

Your warm touch kept the time alive

Without it

How do I survive?

You were my person

My spark

My twin flame

The one who willingly gave me his name

You were

The thump

The rush

The steady roll

You were the heartbeat of my soul

Heartbeat of my soul

Now we're just a ghost song

Faint and hollow

A fading tune I can't follow

But I keep tapping on the floor

Hoping you'll walk back

through the door

You were my person

My spark

My twin flame

The one who willingly gave me his name

You were

The thump

The rush

The steady roll

You were the heartbeat of my soul

The heartbeat of my soul

love poems
