“I’m Fine”

Close your eyes to the world and open up to what hides in plain sight

Written between the lies you'll find the fine print that reads S.O.S.

“I'm Fine.”

Feelings inside not expressed

One word that says nothing but stands for something

One word that paints thousands of pictures

I don't need a thousand words to paint the picture

This is one frame that fits so many lives

There's no where she fits no matter how hard she tries

With no more highs, he's used to the lows, he's grown numb to the ride

Feelings inside not expressed, eventually fade leaving no feelings inside

Ask her how she's doing- I promise you she'll lie to you

Not because she wants to, but because she feels like she has to

Too many promises left broken- Tell me, how many would break before you have trust issues?

Ask him what's wrong and he'll just say that he's fine

He can't stand lying- but alone he can't stand against a society that can't stand the sight of a grown man with tears in his eyes

He has a mask with every expression, one for every occasion

The hide and seek champion isn't so proud of his collection

But is he really hiding if no one is seeking?

When the levy cant hold any more and his emotions leak-

Apparently, he's only seeking attention

He's put on so many faces, that he no longer knows his own reflection

She's facing rejection, but apparently, she's just overreacting

Lost herself looking for perfection, she became blind to her own beauty

Lies she believes about herself keeps her focus at skin level instead of what exists within

And from his perspective, there's not a place he belongs because he's so convinced there's something wrong with him

And if no one else will tell them, I will- that there's nothing wrong him

Let me put a muzzle on the mouths that have been lying to him

Let me tell her the truth she needs to hear- that she's not a piece of another, but her own puzzle

Wonderfully made, she's her own work of art, perfectly playing her own part

To both him and her; Don't always listen to what some may say to you

You're unique, even if some can't or simply refuse to see

You're voices are songs, even if some have bad taste

You're value is priceless, so much so that the world around you can't afford it

Come out of hiding and show them what they're missing

Times both bitter and sweet are sure to come, but remember that all you need you have in you

Share your story, paint a picture with your life, show us what we should be seeing

Something the world has never seen, show us what we should be seeking

About the Creator

Josh Morgan

Personally, writing began as a creative outlet, to be a means of processing and venting emotion, but it has become so much more. Something I want not to be just relatable, enjoyable and a good read, but to reach someone who is in need.
