There's something about being kissed
Right here on my forehead
It tells me you see me
It tells me when you look at me
You really see me
And nothing else matters
And it makes me feel safe
It gives me peace and confidence
I can rest in your love
Because I know you're not going anywhere
I've been kissed by many
But this feels different
It is different
Because it's the kiss of my father
It's how my father shows his heart
When he pulls me close to himself
In that moment, when I feel him close
Something happens, I lose myself
And I fall deeply into his arms
And I throw myself into his love
It's a place of safety
It's a place of comfort
And when he pulls me away
I can feel his heart as I look into his eyes
When he holds my face in his loving arms
He smiles and I see the warmth in his smile
Then he leans in and plants the kiss
Right here, on my forehead
And I feel a tear travel down my cheek
And then little drops follow
And I just know
He loves me
