It's commonly thought
That music is beautiful
Because of the notes
And how we simply
Find them pleasing
But this is not why
Music is beautiful because
Of the space between the notes
It's our anticipation of
The note to follow
That sends signals of pleasure
To our brains
So often, we read words
But fail to notice
The spaces between
Without them this poem
Would be unintelligible
I know now
I am those spaces
I am nothing
I am nobody
I am infinite
I am my spirit
Not my body
I dwell within my body
My body is not me
My body will die
And my Self will go on
Perhaps it will become
The space between
The notes
In my favourite song
Or perhaps the wind
Blowing between the switches
Of a weeping willow
Or even a mote of dust
Suspended in a ray of sunshine
Or perhaps
I'd be given the honour
Of becoming
The space between
Two words
About the Creator
A. R. Ambrosi
I like to write, if that makes me a writer, then rock on!
I started writing as a child because I ran out of stuff to read. So, I only write stuff that I like. If you like it too, awesome! Enjoy! ^_^
