if I...

regretfully yours

By Savannah K. WilsonPublished 2 years ago 1 min read
a poem of regret and apology for what may have happened

If there has been misunderstanding here

Is there a way to know for sure I did wrong?

An abyss of uncertainty drains like a sickness

There may never be a way to be certain

So I guess the way forward is the best now

Without closure or understanding it all

If I did something wrong without knowing

I regret it and apologise without reserve

Have words, thoughts, or actions done this?

The wrong meaning, the wrong intent sent

Wounds like cuts to know I may have done this

Too late to change the past, the damage done?

If it is not beyond repair, please forgive this fool

If you will, if you can, if I did not tear it all down …

If

Sad and poignantly, emotionally regretful. We always ask if and it’s such a powerful question. Great work here.
