If Rain would Sing Along

Maybe if the sky would laugh

and thunder would be song,

and lightning wouldn't break in half,

and rain would dance along...

-

Maybe if the trees would live,

and leaves would never fly to fall,

and branches would be there just to give,

and the growth would never cease at all...

-

Maybe if the waves would rise

and never heave and crash,

and the sand would pride in its small size,

and the boats won't seem a gash...

-

Maybe if the grass were green,

and the flowers bright and loud,

and never would they be seen

but flourishing and proud...

-

Maybe if I'd understand

just enough to gain some peace,

Then warmth would graze on every hand,

and pure and soft would be the fleece.

Your work is amazing. Going to sit with a coffee later and read some more. Excellent.

Rachel this was amazing, oh my gosh!! Where have you been all my life? This poem is like breath, just breathing and going through the motion. Wow, it sounds sorrowful but calming. I love how you use the tool of opposite in each thing you spoke about. It added such depth, I am truly in awe. 👏🏽🤗🙏♥️
