If There Was No Moon

How dark, lonely, and less inspiring our world would be

If there was no moon,

How strange our world would be

The night sky would fall dark, more mysterious than ever

How empty and lonely the stars would be

If there was no moon,

there would be no nightly strolls

 no dinners

done under a romantic moonlight

What would inspire us every night we gazed at the sky?

There'd be no sonatas about moonlight

The stars alone have inspired us,

but how much poetry,

How many songs

have been inspired by that glowing sphere?

If there was no moon, wolves would be silent

For what would they have to howl at?

There would be no werewolves when the moon grew full

because without the moon, they couldn't exist

If there was no moon,

How strange our world would be

a world that would be

more dark

more lonely

and less inspiring
