Irreplaceable Love

A Poem

They say that first love

Is something special.

It’s that kind of love

We could never ever forget.

First love inspires you,

And moves you.

It allows your heart to speak

When for the first time,

it starts to beat.

All your life you can think

That there will never be anything

Like the very first love you’ve known,

Until you are shown,

That there is another,

Even more beautiful,

Than the one before.

It would make you soar,

As it guides you to places,

You haven’t been before.

For when it comes,

It would take you,

And hold you,

And console you.

It would heal you,

And make you whole.

And at last you’d know

That the first isn’t always

The one that lasts.

For alas!

There is a love

That is deeper,

And warmer,

And kinder.

It is that love

That will teach you

To be brave.

And if you wait,

You will find

That kind of love,

That could never be replaced.
