Leave The Children Alone

poem about the evils of fascism when it comes to children

By CT IdlehousePublished 8 months ago 1 min read

They cry out, "Let kids be kids!"

While the kids are shaking in their beds...

Hearing fists pound the front door,

Seeing cops arrest their moms and dads.

/

The boogeyman is real,

But they're not monsters like on TV.

They're people just like us,

But clearly missing their humanity.

/

If you can see a child crying desperately,

For their parents who are gone...

I hope your body's never found

When the rebels right your wrongs.

/

For every bruise upon every child's face,

You should get twice more.

For every woman than you beat and rape,

You should get the same when you're caught.

/

We know what happens in the dark

When the warehouse lights all dim...

I hope a hell exists for you

To burn alive in your every sin.

/

Leave the children alone,

Or you will never be alone again.

We will be in your blood,

In your cells,

In your useless, callous heart,

In your festering, rotting skin.

/

Leave the children alone,

Or you'll never know daylight again.

We will be in your bones,

In your empty, thoughtless head...

In the tips of your blood-soaked fingers,

In the cancerous lesions on your neck.

/

This isn't a threat--

It's a promise.

You'll one day stand before a court

Or before a firing squad

Or before a noose.

And all your victims will be waiting...

Both alive and dead.
