Our eyes were paralyzed
On each other
For a brief eternity
As if we were a link
That had been waiting
To be established
I needed an endless supply of ink
For the poems pooling in my heart
The look in her eyes was
Being tattooed on my mind
Her essence lay at my fingertips
Where she was placing it
Whether she knew it or not
I thought I had closed all ports
For anyone to dock
But no
Something in her eyes
Changed the lock
And she went into my heart
I can’t explain
How or why
From that moment
I didn’t want to be apart
