Listening

By Julie O'Hara - Author, Poet and Spiritual WarriorPublished about 17 hours ago 1 min read

Verse 1

Listening is the doorway

Where the quiet starts to bloom,

Where the heart begins to open

Like a candle in a room.

Listening is the moment

When the noise begins to fall,

And the soul remembers softly

Why it ever came at all.

Chorus

Listening has always been devotion,

Listening has always been a prayer,

Listening is how the soul remembers

Where it came from,

Why it’s here,

And the Love that holds it near.

Listening is the way back home.

Verse 2

Listening is the stillness

Where the ancient truths return,

Where the whisper of the Holy

Teaches what the heart must learn.

Listening is the river

Where the hidden currents flow,

Where the breath becomes a teacher

And the silence starts to glow.

Chorus

Listening has always been devotion,

Listening has always been a prayer,

Listening is how the soul remembers

Where it came from,

Why it’s here,

And the Love that holds it near.

Listening is the way back home.

Bridge

Oh, the world grows loud around us,

Oh, the mind forgets its light,

But the soul keeps calling gently

In the middle of the night.

Every time we turn toward quiet,

Every time we choose to hear,

Something ancient stirs within us—

Something holy,

Something clear.

Final Chorus

Listening has always been devotion,

Listening has always been a prayer,

Listening is how the soul remembers

Where it came from,

Why it’s here,

And the Love that holds it near.

Listening is the way back home.

Outro

Listening is the blessing,

Listening is the start,

Listening is the place the Divine

Speaks softly

To the heart.
