Look At Us

My Beloved.

Look at me, I am but a blade of grass that makes up the field.

I am but a grain of sand in a desert, where no one wishes to tread,

lest they find themselves lost from the narrow path heading straight through.

Look at me, I am an only child.

The children I see are those who have been root-bound,

planted inside small pots.

Look at you.

Your feet move one way, and then another.

Do you have your own feet or theirs?

What brand of shoes do you own?

Even your greatest enemy is your people,

most often you are your worst enemy.

We are no judges.

We are both trailblazers of our own birth paths,

using free will as our only physical tool of navigation.

Do not be cheap with your opinion,

Everyone is a hero that is inspired by the villain.

Two eyes to see two sides to a story, I would never wink at you.

The glimmer has faded from my eyes,

only because of the darkness that I see.

The light is still here.

The light is still there.

It is hard to be like water, everyone tries to freeze or boil you.

Crowns can be to kings as stakes can be to peasants.

Steaks can be to the wealthy as crumbs can be to the poor.

I hate the cold and hate the fire,

The hope keeps me warm.

The despair makes me lukewarm.

I have learned that one with no regrets has yet to learn the lesson,

when we try to hold back our strength only lessens.

A mad man has no fear,

A hero overcomes their fears.

History repeats itself, but not always in the worst ways, hope is still here,

to show its face to the evil, who calls it ugly.

Look at us.
