I just lost my best friend.
My best friend was not a
Person, she was a dog.
She got hit by a car on
August 24, 2024.
Of course, the person didn’t stop.
We live on a dirt road
With no fence.
This has never been a
Problem between the
10 plus dogs we have
Had over the years.
She has been with me for 9 years.
I didn’t realize she was that old.
She was going blind.
A few years ago
I would have been a mess
And lost without her.
She had become my
Emotional support animal.
I think what changed is that
I am in a much better
Place in my life
And that we have lost 2 other
Dogs within a year.
One to disease we think
And the other to old age.
She was over 20 years old.
I will miss her.
I will miss the routine.
I am thankful we had
A good night
Her last night. She hadn’t
Been sleeping with me lately.
We also had a good morning.
She sat in my lap while
I watched T.V. and
Then I did a little typing.
She was cold so I let her out.
I kind of forgot about her
Which is normal.
I went to make lunch at 2
I usually check and see where
She is but I didn’t this time.
That's when it happened.
I will eventually be O.K.
I am worried about the
Only dog we have left.
He is a Mastiff mixed with
Something.
He was sad last night.
He didn’t move after
We got home.
He isn’t even mine
But he is what we have left.
He has separation anxiety.
He goes crazy when I get
Home from work.
He is an inside dog.
We will hopefully be O.K.
I will be
Not sure about him.
Update
I am doing better. He isn’t.

I'm so sorry for the loss of your sweet dog. It's amazing that you had her for over twenty years. I wish you comfort found in the memories you can cherish of time spent with her.
