Distant voices rising and falling in the rain, aware of the trouble their love may bring,
Ignited with passion, a force of love they tried to ignore but this is deeper than a fling,
Satisfaction sat in a distance as they both recited their vows in the faces of other people,
Temptation rises more than it settles, heavily weighing them down; feeble,
Rising to speak on their most desirable inner feelings is a whisper in their ear,
Avoiding conflict as they secretly indulge in their impetuous love affair,
Careless actions motivated by desire, a surrender to lust,
Trust makes a smart man vulnerable as forgiveness is a matter to discuss,
Ignorance inspires a blind eye to what is evidence of an unfaithful companion; indecent,
Objection sits at their core as they’re discovered, neither apologetic but vehement
Nevertheless, a man in love will let go of a heart that no longer belongs to him, not with hate but with a love that doesn’t allow a bitter soul to rule
