Love Like a Bowl of Jasmine

It's giving what people need

By Seema PatelPublished 28 days ago 1 min read

Love is not

giving people

what they don't want,

but

giving

what they need.

I am a knowledge-loving,

my joy and peace lie in

reading, writing, art,

solitude and mindfulness.

I need time, and focus.

demands, monkey business,

conflict, nagging, noises,

interrupt this meditation

I explode in rage, yell,

my blood pressure rises.

Today,

my spouse and little boy

stayed in the other room.

no disturbance,

no interference.

I enjoyed my session

of learning, reading,

it was beautiful, enjoyable.

Love need not be verbal

or a material gift.

It is giving space

that will dispel stress.

Such love

is like a bowl of jasmine,

pristine and fragrant.

Seema, the image of love as a bowl of jasmine is so vivid and serene. It makes me rethink how I show care to others, honoring their needs as you describe.

To have a husband that supports you is brilliant. Your family are like you supportive and understanding to each others needs and goals 🦋😊🦋🏆
