I don’t remember the moment it started
But everything before it seems monochrome
Last night, when you spilled ketchup
On your freshly laundered sweatshirt
The one I got you for Christmas
You cursed your clumsiness
And I laughed, because like the stain
Every minute with you is in vibrant color

I love the direction this took.
Very heartfelt and emotional.
This is a fantastic concept, DK :) Love, love, love this!
Gorgeous! Who would have thought you could make a ketchup spill sound so romantic. 😁
AWWs! How sweet! You got soft spots DK 😉😁
Love the contrast of 'monochrome' vs 'vibrant;' it makes a perfect motif around which you build this tender, loving moment. Stellar entry, D.K.!
Oh now this is a stunner. I remember when I first met my wife and it felt like the world shifted from black and white into color. It was like I was seeing things clearly for the first time. Loved this - I am keeping everything crossed it places in the challenge.
Now that's a positive way to look at clumsiness hehehe. Very lovely!
Such a heartfelt poem, D.K.! I love the imagery as well as the image you used for this!
Shaun stole my line. Or came up with it before me. One of the two.
Wow. What a picture you paint. Gorgeous piece.
Vividly portrayed… guessing it was it the first time he wore the shirt? That sort of thing happens to me 😵💫.
Never had ketchup been so romantic, nice job!
From ketchup to clumsy - I enjoyed the metaphor for in living color. Top Notch job on this poem DK.
This poem has such vibrant colors! Great work!
That last line is spectacular
Ooooo! I love the metaphor for how love can colour our world so vividly and beautifully!! Smartly done, DK!!
Oh my heart. My blackened, but also old romantic heart, is softened and beating a ketchup red lol. This was so good, DK! Love just...every line. Again, another were you are just making the words do all the heavy lifting without adding to them unnecessarily. Well done, pal!
