Introduction
Magica Nomina is Latin for Magical Names, so you can see the Latin roots of part of our language.
The opening song from “The Piper at the Gates of Dawn” by Pink Floyd is “Astronomy Dominé”, penned by Syd Barrett and contains this couplet.
“Jupiter and Saturn, Oberon, Miranda and Titania
Neptune, Titan, Stars can frighten”
So many mythological names just sound amazing, so I thought I would try a sonnet that is a list of names from mythology that I love, and hope you do too.
I won't explain this, but you can use the web to find out who these are if you don't know them. They are European and North American/Inuit mythological creatures, to give you a small indication
