Mister Sandman
Take a Deep Breath

I try to fall asleep and I listen to my breathe.
My breathe.
My breathe.
My breathebra -
My breathebra -
To the thump thump.
Of my heartbeat.
Heart beat.
Of my heart beat.
And the breathebra -
Of the thump thump.
As my eyes tweak.
Prepare for deep sleep.
Counting endless she-eep!
Off to dream land,
With the crickets,
And their cheep chirp.
Then your thumper begins to slumber as you ease off into dreamland.
Mr. Sandman brought me his sand.

i love the repetitions.. like really having no focus in the falling asleep land!
counting sheep never works for me. I imagine water and waves. But ok, sheep for you.
Feels relaxing, but it also feels like it shouldn't be, haha. Great little poem, Amos. And now I'll have "Mr. Sandman, bring me a dream (bom, bom, bom, bom)" stuck in my head 😂😂
