Mon Amour Chéri ~ Darling Moon

Letters to you pile up.

By Novel AllenPublished 4 months ago 1 min read

Darling Moon...Amour Chéri

I have written so many letters, I fear that they are piling up

Many nights I have silently brooded...perplexed by the heavens above

Beneath the peach blue clouds, I stood, as the moon hovered overhead

The sky embraced a deep blue and pleasant hue, enveloping the world

Mystified, I wondered why Moon stopped just a bit out of my reach

It seemed so reluctant to meet me, shyly looming, fixed at that point which prevented my need for a gentle embrace

I could not reach up and touch the warmth of her lovely face

Doe she not know how her presence could melt away the troubles of a stressful day

Or just be the perfect conclusion to an evening well spent in relaxation

Moon, I importuned - come on down...come sit with me a while

Oh! What a difference it would make to my aching lonesomeness

To clasp the moon to my breast, feel the blessings on a warm spring night

To fall asleep under the stars, knowing that all would be well with the world - clasped in grace and peace

If only the moon would finally descent from on high to soothe my troubled nights

Ensuring comfort, joy and a cheerful contentment for my heartfelt days.

Maybe tomorrow, my wish may be granted. And moon gracefully glides down on a moonbeam to meet me

I fear my letter is a tad wistful and melancholic, for on this night you slumber behind a cloud

I hope when this letter reaches you, the night is clear, warm and perfect for our celestial visit upon the moonbeams glow.

Yours ever

ME.

Oh, but what is that I see, way up in the sky tonight? It is the Moon rising. I see she got my letter.

I await patiently for her visit...how wonderful it will be...

When we finally hug.
