A Fight That Was Already Won

My dream was never to fight so hard for a job that was already mine

My dream was never to fight for a spot that I am qualified for

My dreams was never to be judged by the color of my skin

My dream was never to fight for my own nepotism (black families can’t succeed together)

My dream was never to be this shy

My dream was never to have a soft, weak voice

My dream was never to lose against the unintelligent and stupidity

My dream was never to see my people head down and to see them hurt

My dream was never to see this world go backwards, and ruled with hatred

My dream was never to see my black history being erased

I don't get into the black and white thing. We are all people Emily, and that is what I am into. Well written article.
