Wood

Pay attention to the forest,

the forest is the most deciduous earth of all.

Now broadleaf is just the thing,

To get me wondering if the forest is evergreen.

How happy are windswept moorlands!

Do moorlands make you shiver?

do they?

When I think of woodlots, I see an urban development.

Never forget the openhanded and adult woodlots.

Fens, however hard they try,

Will always be wooly.

Never forget the woolly-headed and muzzy fens.

I cannot help but stop and look at the coastal grassland.

Now maritime is just the thing,

To get me wondering if the grassland is inshore.

The beam that's really native,

Above all others is the timber.

Never forget the homegrown and foreign timber.
