Ode to Road to Democracy

Life in freedom is not easy, and democracy is not perfect... President John kennedy

Democracy is one voice … one vote … majority rule …

Cleft from monarchies, braced by war, hewn from faith;

A natural tribal system to participate in common concerns;

Espoused suffragettes, Civil Rights, independent jurisprudence;

Entrenched political parties to debate, compete, be accountable;

Protected fundamental rights in a culture of shared values.

Now mired in the muck of conspiracies … so much lying in the muck…

Such bull crap from fundamentalist fanatics fuming media streams

Who do not want equal rights but superior begotten racist rights,

Underlining fascist persecution fantasies under autocratic leaders,

Subordinating autonomy and minority versus some master race.

BIG MUCK must not prevail … TOTALITARIANISM must not justify.

Stand guard for this democratic road to dignity, diversity and freedom,

Plant in the common fields of dreams of change, not stuck and so mucked up.
