On what could have been said

Lingering on each moment,

On what could have been said,

Or unsaid.

If it were meant to be,

It would have been.

But if it couldn’t have been,

Why does it feel like this.

Of all unfinished business,

And potential misunderstandings,

A labyrinth well traversed,

I do not fight to be where I’m unwanted,

But I am not unwilling to fight.

I know what it is to choose, everyday.

When I finally choose again,

It will be in continued truth.

Unafraid of what is difficult,

I will hold steady in the storm.

For what is life, if not lessons,

And what is the point,

If we let the pain leave us empty,

And blind to the unerring beauty of

Knowing what truly matters.
