To expand the heart
In pieces you spread around the world...
Listen to your own words
Don't listen to anyone
It is as if someone is talking from the inside
In deep understanding he called close and whispered
A very low tone in the background sound
Saying from sunrise to sunset...
Lost somewhere far away
Reached the house by hand
Come out of the realm of ego and see
He is standing at your door
You are very dear to you

The Lesions of Devotion
Every day I set myself down on the freshly cut lawn and strip myself bare. I take my guitar and finger the frets and pick at the strings, listening for dissonance. My life is dissonance. I twist the tuning pegs until each string sounds bright. Then I kneel, calves pointing behind me, kneecaps facing forward. All exposed to the breeze. I close my eyes and play the melody.
