Primavera
A "The Sonnet of Shadows" Challenge Entry

La Primavera by Sandro Botticelli
Spring’s gleam of overwhelming light
Completes the creeping birth of dawn,
Sates fleeting winter's looming flight
Through obscured shades of beauty’s brawn.
*
It harkens darkened hearts forlorn
Brightens the light of dew filled days
With the lushness of spring newborn,
Freeing shadows from love’s sworn slaves.
*
Birth amid dimmed life welcomes spring
With nymphs of light, songs it ignites
In floral umbra strewn, it brings
All t’ward the rays of summer’s plight:
*
Spring's birth from dark to light is hence
To spark the birth of love immense.

Cindy, this is a beautiful Sonnet. I felt like I was living a fairy tale.🌹
You do have the gift of love and romance in your words. Good job,
What a beautiful poem, Cindy!
I really enjoyed how the rhythm flows naturally, keeping the sonnet form intact without feeling forced. A graceful piece.
Love the image and your words are magical
