Quarantine

A Frozen Parody for 2020

By Melissa CareyPublished 5 years ago 1 min read

At the beginning of quarantine I was starting to lose my mind. An ambivert seriously lacking in extrovert activities was forcing me to hone in on introvert side of life. Now I don't know if i'll ever be able to go back. In an attempt to jumpstart my creative juices, I started writing Disney parody songs about quarantine. Enjoy!

Corona spreads through the cities tonight

no TP to be seen

I’m in my kingdom of isolation

and Clorox is the queen

I’m going crazy man I need to be outside

Can’t really work out, heaven knows I’ve tried

Don’t let them in, through your phone you’ll see

those you’ve lost due to this quarantine

conceal, big deal, try not to show

you’re losing hope

Quarantine, quarantine, can’t stay inside anymore

Quarantine, quarantine forced to hide behind my doors

Here I’ll stay as I go insane

let this all play out

Pop the next bottle of champagne

Funny how some distance makes everything intense

Priorities and panic to the lack of common sense

It’s time to see if I’ll refrain

Damn! I touched my face again

no hugs, no fun, no more parties

let me leave

Quarantine, quarantine, I am one with the couch as I cry

Quarantine, quarantine, please don’t last until July

Here I’ll stay as I go insane

let this all play out

My saneness crackles like a fire in the night

Becoming embers that are very quickly losing light

But one thought illuminates my poor dying flames

I don’t know how or why but the governments to blame

Quarantine, quarantine face timing with friends till dawn

Quarantine, quarantine my extrovert is gone

Here I’ll stay as I go insane

let this all play out

well, pop the next bottle of champagne
