Satan in Disguise

By Julie O'Hara - Author, Poet and Spiritual WarriorPublished 7 months ago 1 min read

I walked in the door

It hit like a blast

The couch was flipped

The vase was smashed

Dog’s tail is wagging

Eyes wide with a plea

Not me ...

Not me ...

not me ...

But the cat sits on the counter

Calm as a breeze

Licking her paw like she owns my keys

She’s Satan in disguise

She’s got those innocent angel eyes

Don’t believe her purr

Baby, It’s all a lie

She’s Satan in disguise

Shreds of my curtains

Scattered like art

My favorite sweater

Torn clean apart

The dog points a paw

He’s pleading his case

Not me ...

Not me ...

not me

But the cat yawns big

Like it's not her fault

She's the master of the dark

She’s Satan in disguise

She’s got those innocent angel eyes

Don’t believe her purr

Baby, It’s all a lie

She’s Satan in disguise
