Shadow and Crow
A moment between light and unseen things.
By Kathy TsoukalasPublished 2 months ago • 1 min read

A crow’s shadow illuminated the moon,
Flying past the space above the trees -
Leaving me where I couldn’t see.
The night held still, playing an altered tune.
Hinting at a melody brushed with ease.
A crow’s shadow illuminated the moon,
Its subtle wings unfolded too soon,
Carrying its feathers lightly on the breeze –
Leaving me where I couldn’t see.
Pleading shadows softly back to noon,
Brushing past the spaces shifting the trees –
A crow’s shadow illuminated the moon,
Whispering silently within the rune –
Tracing gentle movement inside the breeze.
A quiet recognition brushed the rune.
A crow’s shadow illuminated the moon,
Leaving me where I couldn’t see.
