She Shines

Outwardly

She Shines

She shines, hiding all that's tattered.

She smiles, masking that she's shattered.

No one can see beyond her facade

Lest they know the real her.

**

She feels ever on display,

Though rarely anyone looks her way.

No one can hear her full story

Lest they wrongfully judge.

**

Never truly revealing all,

She has put up an unyielding wall.

Internally broken, bruised, and bleeding,

She projects only that she's succeeding.

**

No one must find her deepest mind,

Lest they know her as an imposter.

That's why...

She shines, hiding all that's tattered.

She smiles, masking that she's shattered.
