Wrong
Dark and twisted, writhing pain,
The sky hangs low, baptized in rain,
As if it weeps for what it’s seen,
How could people be this mean?
Young and innocent; groomed, discarded,
Leaves my spirit battle-scarred and guarded,
They swore they’d stand and protect us,
Instead, time and again, they have wrecked us.
“They’re eating people” sounded my insane,
But truth has always worn a chain,
Hidden in plain sight, bold and brazen,
Rot at the root, corruption raising.
So what now; how do we fix this?
No doubt now; we can’t dismiss this.
Hearts are bleeding, Mother Liberty crying,
Don’t believe them; they’re all lying
