Snow Day Blues
The Unnecessary Line Challenge

mother nature cast her spell of Winter
is it of Godly beauty or is it sinister
it has been melting like a draining blister
but wait- what does the forecast have in mind
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
we haven't seen a Winter storm in the last years gone by
almost a foot of snow we say with a sigh
the warm temperatures melted the snow and that is no lie
but wait-what does the forecast have in mind
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
the Spring season begins with the vernal eqinox
we shoveled the snow, and broke ice up by hand
we even felt like we were in no man's land
the snow plow got the ticker tape band
but wait -what the the forecast have in mind
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
did Phil the groundhog get it right, in the early morn
is he easily the brunt of scorn
with the warm temperature did they think he got it wrong
but wait -what did the forecast have in mind
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
it seems Phil had it right after all
his shadow was seen big and tall
it appears Groundhog Phil won't be taking a fall
from grace, that is, and Phil's job is secure after all
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
We have snow predicted for Sunday February 22, 2026 ---- 5 to 7 inches
But wait, that is not all, -- We also have snow predicted for Monday, February 23, 2026, 3-4 inches.
I had heard of people say-" fire that rodent!!!!!!!"
I think Phil's job is safe after all!!!!!!!

This is a fun, playful winter poem! ❄️ I love how you built that rhythm with the repetition. Snow days might be chilly, but your lines warm the heart—keep shoveling words like this!
