Storm III

endings and beginnings

By BrenPublished 2 years ago Updated 2 years ago 1 min read

the storm has passed

i stand knee deep in

my wet and muddied life

the many ropes i held

to not wash away

lay wet and limp

spent and soggy reminders

of a safety earnt

the waters recede

the winds have dropped,

and the rains have all but gone

there chill is still near

to remind?

perhaps

there is hint of a warming

on the breeze behind the chill

a promise?

perhaps

it has been so dark

for so long

that even the hope of light

burns my eyes

and my dirty soul

every step is long and heavy

this is my weight

life will emerge

as the sodden soil dries

soon a verdant film

of all shades of green

will cover these lands

and all parts together

will strive under

the sun to come

but until then

there is still

a lot of work to do

...

..

.

The redemption! Love it. Yes, the dirt and the weight and the chill and the work and the promise of new life.
