A single snow flake is the start of an avalanche
It’s quite hard to understand
How minimal effort can cause maximum chaos
The same can happen to that heart of yours
It starts with a tingle
Words flow on your tongue, it’s lingual
Blood pumps through veins
The rain falls down again
There’s noise that rings throughout your ears
Light radiates and displays your fears
You can’t run
Stuck like you’ve been held up by a gun
Something tells you to move your feet
You must fleet
These feelings fail to seize
There’s no reprieve
Even with your best sneakers on
You’ve lost the race, you haven’t won
There’s no sense of motion
Just ongoing commotion
Living within your mind
You think it’ll subside with time
Earth spins but you stand still
You won’t abandon the thrill
You miss the adrenaline you get from being on the move
You want to dance, you want to groove
There’s a force tying you down
Gravity works against you so you frown
The birds look down on you and laugh
They see you’ve been victimized by love
Your wings have been clipped for another
You’ve been confined to the arms of a lover
Close your eyes, close your eyes
It’ll be much harder to stay goodbye
Stop attempting to run away
Live in the moment, enjoy the day
You’ll learn to walk when the time arrives
The heavens will hear your cries
About the Creator
Ami Ocean
Somewhat a mess of a woman
