Beats in my ear, feet to the street,

Wand'ring MY town for some people to meet.

Cruising the sidewalks paced to some beat

Unheard to others, and mem'rized by me.

Up through the town and down to the pier,

Into a shop or two, should my feet steer.

Buying a soda or food to be clear

All of this strutting has put my hunger near.

Now that I'm older and should settle down,

I wander around to a diff'rent end of town;

Down at my absolute favorite dive,

To chat with some beauty who keeps my dreams alive

My hometown's the same one I always knew;

It hasn't changed from my mem'ries of youth...
