The Believer

A poem

By Pore CamaraPublished 2 years ago 1 min read

I’ve been on my knees

Several times since birth

Whispering to an unknown deity

In hopes of answered prayers.

I’ve seen the goodness in ocean

In its ripples and waves

The smoothness of its sand

And the darkness of its depth.

I’ve learnt about the moon

Its exploration by men

Its unique phases

And its powerful light charge.

Seeing you levitating in my bed

In trickles of sweat and desirous inferno

I want to whisper on my knees

So badly that I tremble with passion.

O goddess, raise your arms above your head

Bless this worshipper of yours

Lest we burn together

And commit a blasphemous tryst.

About the Creator

Pore Camara

I’m known as Cammy. One thing I have not been able to outgrow is my inquisitive nature. This has made me restless, overthink and even passionate about everything. The good thing is that it got me reading and writing most of the time.
