The Crow on the Golden Cross

A short Poem inspired by my garden view

Today I shall be hollow

I sit and search tomorrow

Until the last horizon green

Flashes in a morning scene

Empty can be fullest life

When the gust has turned the tide

Voices heard throughout the storm

My song in wind is carried forth

Crow look from your golden cross

A perch of metal, why not moss?

« Comfort is not what we seek

Our souls are meant to break and bleed !»

Fly from earth to heavens gold

One day we will loose our hold

« Black wings are forsaken here

Come, let’s hide away from fear! »

In their selfish human way

They could not hear the angels say

How god did once do a wrong

With the creation of his son

Confidence will grow their greed

And all that’s left, is withered seed

Water not this heavens flower

All it wants is garish power

Crow look from your golden cross

A perch of metal, why not moss?

« Gold will catch a humans eye

They’d never find me otherwise !»

Fly and go beyond their world

Where all they offer us is hurt

« I will stay, watch from above

Up here there is nor pain nor love! »
