The Devil's Poem

A Friendship Gone Awry

By Laurel WallsPublished 8 years ago 1 min read

Eyes of vivid light green,

Heart of downright mean.

She's gone from rags to riches,

Just by giving a few misguided kisses.

Her clothes hug her body like a blanket,

And her hair as soft as silk.

Her voice was innocent and sweet,

But her conscience was dissonant and discrete.

She lied like a penny in a parking lot,

She had no soft spot.

No one was safe from her reign of terror,

All she did was cause pain and error.

Everyone knew she would mess up whatever she could,

So back up for your own good.

Rumors and plans surrounded her brain,

When they were put into action they came down like acid rain.

Secrets were never her strong suit,

But needless to say hers were locked away.

She only had one weakness,

She was lonely and all she had was bleakness.

She worked tirelessly on new gossip pieces,

She purposely put out toxic releases.

Silver and gold against her soul,

But behold, the black is in control.
