The Flame of Anger

They say never to hold onto anger

To never keep it inside

How true that is

But you must be careful

Anger is a fragile thing

Ignore it and it is prone to break

erupt without warning

Anger is that ember kindling inside us

Growing off spite, annoyance

Anything to feed it

Growing until it becomes a raging inferno

that cannot be contained

Ignore it thinking it will smolder

but it will never vanish

Hold that flame of anger carefully

Don't let it grow out of control

Acknowledge it and you'll realize

Not all anger is evil

nor out of spite

Anger can be that fire within us

that sees injustice

An unfairness in the system

and demands change

Anger is that burning flame that empowers our own self change!

Because without that anger within us, there might be no change
