The Great Escape

I could have ran away by now... -so why haven't I?

How much more time will I waste?...

How much more of what resource I'm already lacking in, will I spend?...

on a pursuit as fruitless as this‐

seeking silence...

in a place that knows no peace,

with a mind that knows no quiet‐

making haste, to escape all that life throws my way.

This noise internal I cannot mute, but

I might have an ace up my sleeve...

to finally find quietness,

and turn off the lights...

for good‐

waiting for my turn...

to escape all that life throws my way

For how much longer can I be patient?...

For how many more days can I wait?...

This time that's not even mine,

a currency not well spent

Why can't I just run away?...

to escape all that life throws my way.

About the Creator

Josh Morgan

Personally, writing began as a creative outlet, to be a means of processing and venting emotion, but it has become so much more. Something I want not to be just relatable, enjoyable and a good read, but to reach someone who is in need.
