This is a small marsupial native to Australia, primarily found in the southwestern part of the country, including Rottnest Island and Bald Island.

these small animals with a round body, short limbs, and a short tail. They have a brown or gray fur coat with lighter fur on their belly. also have a friendly and smiling expression on their face, which has earned them the nickname "the happiest animal on earth."

known for their friendly and curious nature. They are not afraid of humans and are often seen approaching people in search of food. they carry their babies in a pouch. Females give birth to a single baby called a joey, which stays in the mother's pouch for several months before venturing out.

    I didn’t visit that island and didn’t see them when I visited Australia last month for the first time 😔. Selfies with wildlife are bad for the wildlife. It makes humans capture baby animals from their mothers, keep them in bad conditions and make money from photos. Then the babies are over-handled and die. 😡. Thanks for sharing the photo and info!!

    Good work. Not sure of the spelling but I do believe that the animal is a Wallaby. Love the picture they are cute.
