The Plants We Forget to Water

A soft reminder of the people, promises, and feelings we neglect without knowing

There are plants in corners collecting dust,

Gifts of care now streaked with rust

We promised them sun, we promised bloom,

But left them dry in a silent doom

Just like people we hold so near,

Who fade from sight, year after year

We meant to call, to ask, to stay—

But life, it always pulls away

We forget to water hearts we know,

Until they wither, too tired to grow

Not out of hate, not from neglect,

But from the weight we can’t deflect

There are words we meant to say,

But swallowed them and walked away

And moments passed like passing rain,

Too fast to feel, too soft for pain

So water the plants, both green and true,

And those in souls that lean on you

For love, like leaves, begins to fall,

If never touched or fed at all

Thank you so much for reading. ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ ❤️
