The Siblings Drifted Apart

For their mindsets varied

They were siblings,

they grew in the same mother womb,

carried the same surname,

but their mindsets varied.

as they picked different influences.

Some enjoyed distractions,

they stayed average in mind.

Some sought inspiration,

they became more evolved.

Their paths diverged

until they seemed unrecognizable.

Nobody cared but the parents.

They wanted the evolved ones

to support the average ones.

The evolved said,

I cannot give you fish,

but I can teach you how to fish.”

The average had influences

that rejected a growth mindset

and held tightly to fixed one.

They thought

things should fall on a platter,

why must I earn my living?

They were hopeless.

The evolved grew tired.

The parents hated him,

called him selfish.

“You are not helping.

own sibling.”

The siblings drifted apart.

And the parents

who once seemed like gods,

in childhood

now seemed flawed.

Just remember no one is totally perfect. That's what I got from this poem. Good job.
