The Stranger

A poem about mourning what never was

Once upon a time, you made me smile,

Sweet words soon turned distant and hostile,

Second choice, the understudy,

Left in the wings to wonder,

Why you played my love?

The play has ended

My story isn’t,

My stranger

Never
