The Troll & the Nymph

A Poem

By Lara AddamsPublished 5 years ago 1 min read

Her voice breaks through the echoes

Of my silently void past

Her eyes are the jewels

That shine to any task

This nymph floats by freely

But I am a humble troll

How to make her love me

Something I will never know

This beauty deserves the moon

That bathes in the twinkling stars

Whereas I am but the night

That will swallow up her laugh

I do not wish to harm her

I will only hold her back

I only wish to love her

And let her fly free amidst the black

Though her hair is mother nature

Her heart is a pure oak tree

Her kind voice is but a whisper

That sends shivers straight through me

She makes me want to be better

But I will always be a troll

Though she makes me feel like a king

As my heart she does hold
