What can you hear, my dear?
The pain of humans, young and old
The cry of their hearts for joy to behold.
What can you smell, my dear?
The desperation for change, both inside and out
The ache for certainty and the vice of doubt.
What can you see, my dear?
The struggle to see through the fog of life
To look past our troubles and see others' strife.
What can you feel, my dear?
Your hand touching mine.
And the fleetingness of time.
What can you taste, my dear?
The hope of a new generation
Coming on a wave of renewed determination.
About the Creator
Sarah O'Grady
I like to play with words to escape reality. Or at least to try and make sense of it.
