The Wheel of Fortune Can Spin Two Ways

Up and down round and round it goes

The Wheel of Fortune Can Spin Two Ways

The wheel of fortune can spin two ways,

one for the dreamers, one for the strays.

One minute you’re walking the gold-paved street,

next, you’re alone with dust at your feet.

I’ve seen it lift the empty hand,

I’ve watched it break the strongest stand.

It isn’t fate, it isn’t grace,

just chance that wears a shifting face.

So play your cards, but guard your heart,

the wheel gives gifts, then tears them apart.

It owes you nothing, it makes no vow,

it spins for then, it spins for now.

But while it turns, I’ll hold my line,

my scars, my laughs, this fight is mine.

Whether it lifts me or lets me fall,

I’ve walked through worse, I’ve faced it all.

The wheel of fortune can spin two ways—

I’ll meet them both with steady gaze
