The withering love

To heal is to watch a garden bloom once more.

If you don’t take care of your garden, the weeds take over.

The earth becomes

dry,

hard,

and useless.

And like flowers,

love can wither and die,

lose its color,

fade away,

until it’s nothing more

than a shadow

of its former self.

You can try to claim it back,

spread water upon the land,

but the deed is done.

It’s dead.

You will have to rebuild anew,

and it will take time,

energy,

and patience.

You cannot tend to something

fruitless,

barren,

or desolate.

You will have to dig up the roots,

plant new seeds.

It’s like when a relationship ends.

All you have left is the past.

It will not change.

Only the future can.

You will have to grow strong again,

start from the beginning.

And after a while,

the garden will return to its former luster.

The greenery will sing again,

bloom,

sprout its wings.

And just like before,

love will thrive.
